Structured Water in the News

The concept of Structured Water is strangely under attack by mainstream science.
Companies that have spoken to the media and failed to disclose conflicts of interest have attracted the attention of ABC Media Watch.

While the ABC may be correct about the non disclosure of interest, this type of media is negative for bona fide companies promoting healthy water. In such situations the public needs to be very discerning about information and news presented.

Transcript of ABC Media Watch:

Better than water!

Nine newspapers breach reporting guidelines by failing to disclose a conflict of interest over a story promoting ‘structured water’.

Broadcast:

Published: But now to Nine’s weekend magazine Sunday Life, that comes with The Sunday Age and Sun-Herald, which told us recently about a wonderful new drink:

Better than tap? The science behind ‘structured water’

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 July, 2022

That sounds fascinating. I can’t wait to hear more:

We’re all familiar with water’s three phases — liquid, ice, and vapour — but some experts are talking about a fourth phase. The new kid on the block, they say, is structured water …

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 July, 2022

And what exactly is that? Well, it’s also known as “hexagonal” or “exclusion zone” water:

Advocates of structured water say it has a hexagonal crystalline structure unlike regular water, which has a five-sided or pentagonal shape.

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 July, 2022

And, as Sunday Life told us, that makes it much better than ordinary water in so many ways.

Now, if that sounds to you like a load of old nonsense, I would have to agree. But if it’s in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, surely there is some solid science behind it?

Not according to UNSW water engineer Stuart Khan who tweeted:

If you can’t spot that this is pure snake oil from a kilometre away, you should not be in the business of ‘reporting’, let alone ‘science reporting’.

– Twitter, @stukhan, 31 July, 2022

And in The Conversation Khan’s colleague at UNSW, Timothy Schmidt, also had a crack:

As a professor of chemistry, I can tell you “EZ water” is nonsense …

Put simply, it is not possible to buy any other type of water than regular water.

– The Conversation, 4 August, 2022

And Jackson Ryan, Science Editor at the US tech website CNET, was also outraged, taking to his blog No Breakthroughs to lament:

Every now and again you come across a piece of science reporting so wild that even calling it science reporting is an affront to every hard working scientist, communicator and journalist today.

This is one of those times.

– No Breakthroughs, 1 August, 2022

So who in Sunday Life was spruiking this new magic water? Step forward Rob Gourlay, billed in the story as:

… an expert in biological research and water-structure science.

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 July, 2022

Who told readers:

“There are so many health benefits of drinking structured water, including improved hydration and uptake of minerals, increased oxygen, reduced inflammation, and elimination of foreign or toxic pollutants.”

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 30 July, 2022

So is Gourlay a well-known water expert? Well, yes, of sorts. He is a Master of Applied Sciences who has been researching water for years.

And he’s also a water diviner, here with the copper rods, who was awarded the New South Wales Dowser of the Year in 2020.

And he owns a company that sells, wait for it, MEA — or magnetic, energised, activated water — which comes at a bargain $455 for two bottles with a golden top.

Although to be fair the gold top can turn any amount of tap water into you know what.

And what about the story’s author, Joanna Webber? Her CV shows she’s been a ‘content provider’ to women’s magazines, for clients like Weight Watchers, Coles and Westfield.

But she’s now doing PR for Gourlay’s company, Phi’on, which sells MEA water. Yet, somehow, neither Gourlay nor Webber — nor The Age or Herald — told us about this blatant conflict of interest.

So how on earth did these once-admired papers let this happen? Nine told us in a statement:

We have removed the article from online and there is an investigation underway. We are taking this matter extremely seriously.

– Email, Nine spokesperson, 5 August, 2022

And so it should because Nine has breached its own reporting guidelines, which state:

We will examine and disclose conflicts of interest, where relevant.

– The Sydney Morning Herald, 3 June, 2019

As for Rob Gourlay, he says it is “unfortunate” Nine has removed the article. And he remains a real believer, calling critics of structured water:

… crackpot skeptics, chemists and mainly public scientists who are captive of their peer review beliefs …

If MSM keeps sweeping new and relevant science under the carpet then you are squashing innovation in industry.

– Email, Rob Gourlay, Managing Director, Phi’on, 5 August, 2022

Meanwhile, Joanna Webber told us she did not tell Sunday Life she does PR for Phi’on because she wasn’t plugging the company and thought the story was of genuine interest to readers. She says she did not intend to mislead.

Structured Water

This site explains structured water further:

Compared to other water, Structured Water,

  1. has different optical properties;
  2. has a negative electrical potential/charge;
  3. is more dense and it’s molecules gathered more tightly and so it has a relatively higher resistance to flow;
  4. has higher boiling and lower freezing points;
  5. Its refractive index and density are both about 10 percent higher;
  6. super-conducts photons and electrons;
  7. has a far greater capacity to activate light photons, and increase the biological and chemical activity of water;
  8. restricts solutes/dissolved substances from entering;
  9. Is softer due to reduced surface tension, change in structure of substances within the water and   the increased and more homogeneous molecular organization; and
  10. has higher cellular absorption and delivery of nutrients;

Structured Water’s (protective) exclusion of solutes is the underlying reason for Washington Bio-engineering professor and Structured Water expert, Dr. Gerald Pollack calling Structured Water  “exclusion zone” or “EZ water” .

The unique attributes of Structured Water are encoded in it’s electromagnetic “signature”, which is also known as its “energy pattern”. Structured Water’s distinct pattern of energies are reflected in its geometric shape. That shape is completely compatible with the structure of the cell membrane wall. Structured Water can, therefore, instantly enter and exit the cell. Whereas it can take several days for tap water to pass through the cell membrane wall.

The Structured Water is also guaranteed immediate passage through the cell membrane wall, because its groups of gathered molecules (clusters) are within the allowance range (cluster size of 5-20.).

Structured Water Is Natural to the Body

 Structured Water is a primary component in the body.

“This is not just any water – our bio-water, the water within our bodies, is highly structured. Everywhere water is found in the body – which is, virtually, everywhere, it is found to exist in a state of complex, geometrically ordered molecule arrangements…on which our physical, emotional, energetic, and consciousness systems depend on for health and proper functioning.”

Excerpt, “Water Codes: The Science of Health, Consciousness, and Enlightenment,” Dr. Carly Nuday, November 2014.

Research studies show Structured Water is actually part of the structure of each cell and essential for proper cellular functioning. Also, the greater the structuring of the water around the cells and DNA of our body, the healthier the body. Dr. Gerald Pollack explains:

“the water inside your cells is absolutely critical for your health. If you have a pathology of an organ, it’s not only the proteins inside that organ that are not working, but also the water inside that organ. That near-protein water is not ordered in the way it should be. “ except from Dr. Pollack interview with Dr.  Mercola’ , January 29, 2011.

The connection between health conditions and disorder in cellular water has been scientifically verified and has predictive value:

“The feedback loop between the loss of structure in the body’s water and the manifestation and development of disease is no longer theory. Researchers at the University of Southern California have successfully measured disruptions in cell waters that predict pre-pathological conditions – diseases that are undetectable and don’t yet display any symptoms, but which will develop into symptoms over time”  Dr. Carly Nuday, Water Codes

Dr. Pollack suggests that the large net negative charge in Structured Water acts as a battery in water for electromagnetic radiations from the sun. Although the mechanisms are not yet understood, researchers agree sun light radiation, the frequencies of earth’ s electromagnetic field and warmth, including the body’s own heat, help create structured cellular water. Hence deficiencies in any of these 3 cause structured cell water to degenerate. Degeneration also results from biological stressors, (e.g., emotional/psychological disturbance, environmental and ingested pollutants, poor diet). As related below the water molecule’s structure is also responsive to the quality of nearby energies (benevolent, malevolent) associated with concepts, sounds and images. Only water that has been sufficiently structured can enter a cell and repair and replenish cellular Structured Water.

 “The cell is immortal, It is merely the fluid in which it floats that degenerates. Renew this fluid at regular intervals, give the cells what they require for nutrition, and as far as we know, the pulsation of life can go on forever.”  Dr. Alexis Carrel, Nobel Prize Recipient in Medicine

Earth’s Healing Waters are Structured Water

There are regions of the earth where water is thought to be responsible for the longevity of people in those regions. The naturally occurring waters in the Hunza Valley in northern Pakistan has been linked to the remarkable longevity of the people who live in the region. The waters of Lourdes in France, Ganges River in India and waters of Tiacotle Mexico are other natural waters that are venerated for their health giving properties.
